Similar to the Oregon Juncos we have at our feeder back in California, this variant is a common visitor to the McGuffey's feeder in Kentucky.

This is a wonderful photo of a very beautiful bird. But you said you live in SF, ca. I live a little north, in Santa Rosa. We have wonderful birds here. Can you get Trish to take some photos? How about those herons nesting on west 9th street in santa rosa -- it's quite a bird scene!
